The fields are very wet today and can not handle open practice. Reese field is closed to all events. All other fields are closed to practice but open if you have a previously scheduled make-up game. You will more than likely need to line the field prior to any games. We have had people check out the fields and they are wet and there is some standing water in areas. If you have a make-up game today, please check the field you intend to play on prior to your game to ensure the field is safe for play.

PTSA has a zero tolerance policy regarding the security clearance requirements for our volunteers: Complete all clearances or YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO COACH, assist or otherwise volunteer. BOTH PARTS (A and B) MUST BE SATISFIED!

A.) PA WEST CLEARANCE = Ekidsafe

i. Log onto the PTSA Registration Website here:

iv. Enter information as requested – payment due is $10.00

v. Once you have been successfully screened, PA West will unlock your status and allow a team to be assigned to that coach.

d. PTSA Risk Management must physically have this copy in had to deliver to Michelle Harmel at Peters Township Parks and Recreation.

2. PA DPW = Child Abuse History

a. Print out and complete the FORM for the Child Abuse History Clearance.

b. Send in a printed copy of your PATCH from step 1 above

c. Get a certified check or money order for $10.00. NO OTHER FORMS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED!!!!

d. Send the FORM, PATCH and the MONEY ORDER OR CERTIFIED CHECK to the address on the FORM

e. Once processed you will receive in the mail a paper clearance

f. KEEP A COPY FOR YOUR RECORDS

PTSA FIRMLY BELIEVES that this measure will more adequately protect our children from potential abuse by more efficiently processing our volunteer base.

We are sending this to as many people as possible that are associated with our soccer association. We are under a no tolerance policy for back ground clearances for anyone that is involved with our soccer teams. In order to aid a soccer team in anyway on the field we are in need of these important clearances. If you are intending to coach or help coach a team this year or in the future then these clearances must be completed per the enclosed instructions before you are permitted on the field with the team. Our Director of Risk Management as put together a comprehensive instruction sheet to help with the clearance process.

If you, as a parent, have any desire to help out with the team in any capacity then we ask that you begin this process immediately.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Ultimately it is about the kids and the safety of the kids.

Fall Soccer season

Our fall soccer season will begin later this month. Teams and coaches are being created as we speak so anticipate notification in the next few weeks.

We will lay out the soccer fields on the 19th 20th and 21st of August. I am in dire need of help in this task and I am requesting that if you could help for any amount of time on these days to please contact me. I will provide more specifics on where and when next week.

I can not stress enough how much we need help getting the fields ready for the up coming season. Even an hour of your time would be appreciated. Any one needing volunteer hours for college or other organizations are welcome to attend and I will provide proof of their hours.

Parents who help in the field preparation are welcome to be bring their kids and we will organize an open scrimmage.

On-Line, go to www.ptsoccer.org, and click on the Registration link, any time now through August 15, 2011. We have a new on-line program, so your patience is appreciated.
Only if you do not have internet access - print off a registration form from the same link and mail it with your payment to the address on the card

Any first-time players will need to provide an electronic copy of the player's birth certificate.

Registration Fees:

In-House (Non-Travel): $70 for players born between August 1, 2005 and July 31, 2007, $85 for all older players.

In-House and Travel or Travel Only: $175, $85 on-line and $90 payable separately at tryouts.

In-House Family maximum payments are $225 (travel fees excluded).

Payment is required at time of registration – all credit cards and eCheck accepted.

Travel Players: Players trying out for the travel program must be registered PRIOR to their acceptance on a travel team.

A late registration fee will be added onto the family's registration amount if registration is received after August 15th. This is not included in the family maximum.

Fields and PDO are open today. There is a severe thunderstorm watch for our area till 7pm. The storms are widely scattered and we may see little to no rain. Please look at the weather near the time of your practice today and determine if you will have practice today. The field status will remain open.

The fields can handle light rain and still be played on today. Please keep in mind that it is our policy that after seeing lighting, play can not resume on a field for 1/2 an hour.

With a few days of nice weather ahead I am posting that the fields are open and will not give daily updates until a change in the field status occurs.

A reminder that the grass will be growing greatly during this sunny weather and the the lines need to be maintained once during the week. If you have practice on Wednesdays and have a chance please line the fields.
