The Peters Township Varsity Soccer Teams are once again in strong contention for WPIAL AAA Soccer Championships. In fact, the boys and girls teams Both enter the WPIAL playoffs as the top ranked teams in AAA Soccer. Our High School Soccer teams have earned first round playoff byes AND 2nd round home games. The Boys varsity soccer team, lead by veteran Coach Bob Dyer, ended their regular season with yet another Section 5 Championship. Their Section record was 10-0-2 and their overall record was 13-1-2. Here is a link to a Post-Gazette story about the boys' season:
The Pat Vereb coached Lady Indians dominated Section 5 with a section record of 10-0-0 and an overall regular season record of 17-1-0. The Lady Indians have spent most of the season at the top of the WPIAL rankings and they begin their bid to 3-Peat as Pennsylvania AAA Girls Soccer Champions. Here is a link to another newspaper article about PTHS Forward Veronica Latsko. V is only a junior but she is already being spoken of as perhaps the most dominant female soccer player to have ever competed in the WPIAL. You should come out to see for yourself what the hype is all about!
The Lady Indians will host the winner of a first round match between the Hampton Talbots and the Fox Chapel Foxes. Our Lady Indians' home playoff match will be held on Wednesday evening, October 24th. We believe that Kick off will be at 7:30 PM, but please check our Website for details before coming out to the stadium. The Lady Indians are led by a talented group of Seniors that are two-time State Champions and have played in the last 3 WPIAL championship matches. Come on out and fill the stands so we can all make their last home game one to remember.
The Boys team will face off against the winner of a first round match between Mt. Lebanon and Seneca Valley. The Indians have been a perennial Championship contender, including seven appearances in the WPIAL championship game in the past 9 years and 2 appearances in the PIAA State Championship game (1 State Championship in 2007). This is a great opportunity for your young athletes to witness the "Tradition of Winning" that is Peters Township High School Soccer.
The Mighty PTHS Indians will kick off their quest for championship gold on Thursday, October 25th. We believe that Kick off will be at 7:30 PM, but please check our Website for details before coming out to the stadium. Remember, your kids are the future of PTHS Soccer and we would love for them to be our "12th Man" for these important playoff matches.

The field status will be updated when there is a change in the status of the fields or when the weather makes the conditions of the fields questionable. The decision to open or close the fields is based on field conditions and the safety of the players, NOT THE CURRENT WEATHER. I will make necessary updates by 3:30pm weekdays and 7:30am weekends. If the site has not been updated then there has been no change in the field status.

Often during scattered showers the fields will remain open although at your designated practice time the weather may be unfavorable to having practice.
